Overview

Renaissance Economic Development Corporation (REDC), a subsidiary of Asian Americans for Equality, Inc. (www.renaissance-ny.org) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial and technical assistance services to entrepreneurs throughout New York City. Renaissance focuses on low-income, immigrant neighborhoods where the barriers of language, culture and conventional loan underwriting have stymied the growth of small businesses. Renaissance’s lending activities are guided by a commitment to increase business opportunities for low-income, minority, women, and immigrant entrepreneurs. As a US Department of Treasury-Certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and a designated US Small Business Administration (SBA) Microlender and Community Advantage lender, Renaissance offers short and intermediate term loans to entrepreneurs who need to grow or launch new businesses. Renaissance also provides financial literacy services and comprehensive technical assistance to small business owners and entrepreneurs each year through individual counseling and classroom sessions.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILTIES:

Renaissance is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Associate to keep our Managing Director and the office running smoothly and efficiently. This is a great opportunity to assist our employees with diverse projects and provide general administrative support to the Managing Director. We’re a small company of less than 30 employees, which means there’s lots of room for growth and learning opportunities. Responsibilities

  • Manage the calendar, schedule and communications of the Managing Director including but not limited to prioritizing emails and phone calls, gathering documents to prepare for meetings, maintaining files, developing presentations and coordinating and running special events.
  • Maintain the team calendar, which includes a high volume of scheduling and preparation of meetings both internally and externally.
  • Perform minor accounting duties i.e.: prepare and track all REDC management’s credit card expense reports and reimbursements. Understand and comply with all policies, guidelines, and procedures for expense processing, complete monthly reconciliations of REDC management’s corporate credit card statements.
  • Assist the Managing Director with contract preparation and contract record keeping
  • Manage staff calendar and work schedule and ensure staff timely attendance in the office. 
  • Coordinate office cleanings and act as a liaison with vendors to ensure the office is safe and all office facility equipment/furniture/fixture are fully operational.
  • Maintain and track inventory for all company property, equipment and furniture.  
  • Manage and organize company file storage documents
  • Act as a liaison with third party IT vendor regarding staff/office software/hardware needs.
  • Responsible for the administration and reconciliation of program budget. 
  • Report office progress to Managing Director and work with Managing Director to improve office operations and procedures
  • Participate on REDC teams, projects and strategic initiatives as needed. 
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or any combination of High School degree or equivalent with any experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the job responsibilities.
  • Minimum of two (2) years administrative assistant/office associate experience.  Prior experience in assisting an Executive is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present information to a diverse client base- specifically racially, ethnically and socially diverse.
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime time as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail and focus.
  • Possess sound judgment, solid decision-making capabilities, patience and follow-up as well as strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently under minimal supervision
  • Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Bilingual/Fluency in English/Chinese, English/Korean or English/Spanish language is highly desirable
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple complex projects with minimal supervision.

COMPENSATION:

REDC offers generous paid time off, rich benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 403(b) with company match, group term life insurance, short-term and long-term disability and host of other voluntary benefits.  In addition, we offer employee recognition, opportunities for professional growth and competitive salaries.  Salary offers will be based on the candidate’s experience in similar roles and will fall between a range of $45,000/yr-$55,000/yr($24.73/hr-$30.22/hr)
